| The waterside at Chiswick |
Programme:
We began with our research in order to identify the key players locally and in Hounslow. We met with councillors and local residents and also planning councillors and the portfolio holder.
A range of benefits were identified that included the preservation of a waterside crane and the extension of the Thames path.
We promoted these benefits amongst the planning committee and ward members.
One of our main opponents was Lady Dido Berkeley, a person who campaigns to 'preserve' the Thames Riverside and was running a very effective campaign to stop the scheme.
We produced a statement of community involvement as part of the planning application.
Outcomes:
The committee approved the application unanimously.
